Coggeshall has some 240 listed buildings – more than almost any other town or village in Essex

Self-guided walks around Coggeshall

Free leaflets are available. The first, the Coggeshall Town Trail, tells the town’s story through some of our many many historic buildings.
It also features three longer circular walks into the surrounding countryside including one of about 2 miles to the famous (and listed) wrought-iron footbridge built in 1892 by local hero and blacksmith Henry (Dick) Nunn.

in 1851 Coggeshall was one of the most industrialised in Essex and our second free leaflet, the Coggeshall Industrial Heritage Trail, takes the visitor on a tour around the town, telling the story of this rich indutrial heritage.

Both can be picked up from the museum or from Bakelicious on Market Hill
