Coggeshall has some 250 listed buildings – more than almost any other town or village in Essex
We offer two leaflets offering guided walks around Coggeshall
The first. ‘A Guide to Coggeshall’ is a town trail which tells the town’s story through some of our many many historic buildings.
It also feateres three longer circular walks into the surrounding countryside including one of about 2 miles to our famous wrought-iron footbridge built in 1892 by local hero and blacksmith Henry (Dick) Nunn.
The second is another self-guided walk which tells the perhaps unexpected story of Coggeshall’s indutrial heritage.
In 1851 our town was one of the most industrialised in Essex.
Both are free of charge and can be picked up from ‘the museum or from Bakelicious on Market Hill
and ‘Norman’s’ sweet-shop next to the town clock
